Habits
Highly gregarious. Moves about in small to large flocks. Often associated with Citrine White-eye (Zosterops semperi). Flocks very noisy.

Voice
Contact call is a frequently uttered nasal 'cheee', louder and lower-pitched than similar calls of Citrine White-eye (Zosterops semperi). In flight and sometimes perched, a rollicking 'chee-che-che-che' that sound like the calls of American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis).

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Forms a superspecies with Kosrae White-eye (Zosterops cinereus) and previously treated as conspecific, but differs in voice and behaviour.
