General Search

Help 
This page allows you to find information about a particular species. You can locate information in a number of ways.

 

Search by Name

Perhaps the most simple way is to search by the name of the species. You can search by using either the common name or the scientific name (Guide):

  • Common Name

  •   Exact   All World       

    You may also check any of the following to modify the return format

          If creating a list include Endangered (IUCN) Status
          If creating a list include Scientific Name
          If creating a list include <br /> (suitable for HTML)

Search by Family

If you are interested in finding species of a related group then you can search by the common family name or the scientific family name (Guide):

Perhaps you know the Id (Atlas) number. You can locate the species directly by entering the number (Guide):

Perhaps you have some idea of the size of the species (Guide):

  • Minimum: Maximum:   All World

You can also search by the Area:

  • Within a given distance of the Designated City of an Area

  • Area (City) Distance
         All     
  • Within a given distance of a GPS location

Search by Area

You can also search by the Area that the bird has been seen in or is known to occur in (Guide):

    You may display rarity status information by Area or Country by checking the box and selecting your Area
     
    Show Rarity Status by Area      [Rarity Status Reporting Active: Yes ]

Search by Rarity

You can also search by the Area that the bird has been classified as a Rarity in (Guide):
