Subspecies
No subspecies.
Chloropsis cochinchinensis (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Javan Leafbird (Chloropsis cochinchinensis), Bornean Leafbird (Chloropsis kinabaluensis) and Jerdon's Leafbird (Chloropsis jerdoni) following Wells et al. (2003).
Probably forms a superspecies with Javan Leafbird (Chloropsis cochinchinensis), Bornean Leafbird (Chloropsis kinabaluensis) and Yellow-throated Leafbird (Chloropsis palawanensis) and was for long regarded as a subspecies of Javan Leafbird (Chloropsis cochinchinensis), but differs in bill morphology and plumage details. Wing length size varies, but differences considered insufficient to warrant naming of geographical subspecies.
