Presumed to be similar to that of Mindanao Pygmy Babbler (Dasycrotapha plateni). They include a quiet 'tchik', 'chik' or 'chit' sometimes repeated in quick succession.

Subspecies
Stachyris plateni (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Mindanao Pygmy Babbler (Dasycrotapha plateni) and Visayan Pygmy Babbler (Dasycrotapha pygmaea) following Collar (2006).
Until recently considered conspecific with Mindanao Pygmy Babbler (Dasycrotapha plateni).
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Mindanao Pygmy Babbler (Dasycrotapha plateni) which has more rufous plumage, longer wing, bill and especially tail.
