China (mainland), Myanmar.

Breeds in east-central China (Sichuan, Shaanxi, probably also southern Gansu); non-breeding south-eastern Asia.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Seicercus burkii (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Green-crowned Warbler (Phylloscopus burkii), Bianchi's Warbler (Phylloscopus valentini), Whistler's Warbler (Phylloscopus whistleri), Alstrom's Warbler (Phylloscopus soror) and Grey-crowned Warbler (Phylloscopus tephrocephalus) following Alstr�m and Olsson (1999) and Martens's Warbler (Phylloscopus omeiensis) following Martens et al. (1999).

Recently described species, formerly treated as part of Green-crowned Warbler (Phylloscopus burkii), but differing in morphology, vocalizations and mitochondrial DNA.
