Hylorchilus sumichrasti (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Sumichrast's Wren (Hylorchilus sumichrasti) and Nava's Wren (Hylorchilus navai) following AOU (1998).
Originally described as a subspecies of Sumichrast's Wren (Hylorchilus sumichrasti), but more recent studies of vocalizations indicate that the two are distinct species.
