Subspecies
No subspecies.
Certhia discolor (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Sikkim Treecreeper (Certhia discolor) and Manipur Treecreeper (Certhia manipurensis) following Tietze et al. (2006).
Formerly treated as conspecific with Manipur Treecreeper (Certhia manipurensis), but now separated on basis of vocal and genetic evidence. Birds from north-eastern India (Nagaland, western Manipur) sometimes placed with Manipur Treecreeper (Certhia manipurensis), but plumage details indicate clear affiliation with this species.
