Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. From sea-level - 1,100 m.

Range (Guide)

Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], C�te dIvoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone.

Forests from Sierra Leone and Liberia east to south-western and eastern Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon and northern PRCongo.

Subspecies
West African Batis (Batis occulta) and Bioko Batis (Batis poensis) (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) are retained as separate species contra Dowsett and Forbes-Watson (1993) who include occulta as a subspecies of Bioko Batis (Batis poensis).

No subspecies.
