Habitat
Open shrublands and grasslands, sandy or stony hills and plains with scattered vegetation.

Nest
Bulky, domed, with a spout-like entrance, composed of thick twigs, lined with flower-pods and other soft materials, usually placed in a prickly shrub.

Eggs (Guide)
2 - 4; dull white to light brown, thickly freckled with red-brown blotches; oblong-oval; about 18 x 13 mm.

Young
Altricial, nidicolous.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Similar Species
Chestnut-breasted Whiteface (Aphelocephala pectoralis) which has a chestnut band across the breast and Southern Whiteface (Aphelocephala leucopsis) which lacks a breast band, is greyer brown above and has pale grey underparts.
