Subspecies
Coconut Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) and Red-collared Lorikeet (Trichoglossus rubritorquis) (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) have been lumped into Trichoglossus haematodus following Christidis and Boles (1994).
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Coconut Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus).
