Western Colombia from central Chocó (Quibdó area) south to north-western Ecuador (Esmeraldas).

Status VU
Habitat destruction and degradation through conversion to agriculture for oil palm plantations (biofuel speculation), timber extraction (Pacific rim exportation), industrial-scale river dredging for gold, coca production, which is stimulating immigration and colonisation to the region, are the main threats.
