No subspecies.
Dendroica adelaidae (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Adelaide's Warbler (Setophaga adelaidae), Barbuda Warbler (Setophaga subita) and St Lucia Warbler (Setophaga delicata) following AOU (2000).
Forms a superspecies with Yellow-throated Warbler (Setophaga dominica), Grace's Warbler (Setophaga graciae), Barbuda Warbler (Setophaga subita) and St Lucia Warbler (Setophaga delicata). Formerly considered conspecific with Barbuda Warbler (Setophaga subita) and St Lucia Warbler (Setophaga delicata), but all have recently been shown to have a level of genetic differentiation similar to that of some continental American species.
