Habitat
Secondary growth, thickets, tall grasslands with scattered shrubs or dense bushes in stony scrub-covered ravines and hills. From sea-level - c.900 m.
North-eastern India (south-eastern Arunachal Pradesh south to south-eastern and eastern Assam and Nagaland) and northern Myanmar.

Estimated population is unknown (2010) and stable.
Status NT
Habitat degradation through increased grazing and agricultural conversion, as well as firewood cutting, may be the main threats.
