Subspecies
No subspecies.
Has sometimes been placed in a separate genus, Vitia, but on basis of voice and morphology now included within present genus. Together with Palau Bush-Warbler (Horornis annae) and Fiji Bush-Warbler (Horornis ruficapilla) (possibly also Tanimbar Bush-Warbler (Horornis carolinae)) probably most closely related to Japanese Bush-Warbler (Horornis diphone). These species appear to be relicts of a single, formerly more widespread species in Indo-Pacific region.
