Habitat
Rainforest and tall regrowth. Tends to avoid thickets and garden shrubery. Usually in small, noisy flocks.

Norfolk Island (B) (NB).

Invertebrates, fruit and nectar.

Voice
Alarm call a rather loud, hinnying 'ti-hi-hi-hi-hi'. A loud, penetrating 'kyeeeeh....kyeeeeh....'. A soft high-pitched whistle.

Nest
Round, cup-shaped, composed of moss, fibrous roots and grass, lined with hair, suspended by rim, from branches near the edge of the canopy, up to about 8 m above the ground.

Eggs (Guide)
2 - 6; 20 x 15 mm. Incubation: possibly by both sexes.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Sometimes treated as conspecific with extinct Robust White-eye (Zosterops strenuus).

Similar Species
White-chested White-eye (Zosterops albogularis) and Silvereye (Zosterops lateralis).
