Subspecies
No subspecies.
Forms a superspecies with Rota White-eye (Zosterops rotensis), Bridled White-eye (Zosterops conspicillatus) and Citrine White-eye (Zosterops semperi) and all formerly considered conspecific, but differ in plumage, vocalizations and behaviour, and treatment as separate species supported by DNA-DNA hybridization and analyses of mitochondrial DNA.
