Subspecies
No subspecies.

Cinnycerthia peruana (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Peruvian Wren (Cinnycerthia peruana), Sharpe's Wren (Cinnycerthia olivascens) and Fulvous Wren (Cinnycerthia fulva) following SACC (2005).

Formerly treated as conspecific with Sharpe's Wren (Cinnycerthia olivascens) and Fulvous Wren (Cinnycerthia fulva).
