Subspecies
No subspecies.

Originally described as a subspecies of Eurasian Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris), but since found to be sympatric. Moreover, morphology, vocalizations and genetic studies support its treatment as a separate species, and further indicate that Rusty-flanked Treecreeper (Certhia nipalensis) is its closest relative.
