Himalayas from northern India (eastern Uttaranchal) east to eastern Bhutan, also southern China (south-eastern Xizang, extreme western Yunnan west of R Salween) and north-eastern Myanmar (south-eastern Kachin).

Subspecies

Occasionally considered a subspecies of Eurasian Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris), but no grounds for such treatment. Molecular genetic studies indicate that Sichuan Treecreeper (Certhia tianquanensis) is its closest relative.
