Habitat
Temperate forest, urban areas, plantations, arable land. From sea-level - 1,500 m.

Range (Guide)

Brunei Darussalam, China (mainland) (NB), Indonesia (NB), Japan (B) (NB), Malaysia, Philippines (NB), Russia (Asian) (B), Singapore, Taiwan (China) (NB).

Vagrant to Hong Kong (China), North Korea, Palau, South Korea (NB).

Breeds on southern Sakhalin, Japan (S, including offshore islands of Rishiri-to, Teuri-jima and Sado, to central Honshu), southern Kuril Is (southern from Iturup), and Askold I (off Vladivostok, in south-eastern Russia). Non-breeding Ryukyu Is, Philippines and northern Borneo.
