Habits
Usually solitary. Forgaes near streams around rocks and in leaf-litter. Frequently fans tail downward.

Insects and their larvae, small invertebrates, frogs. Less frequently small fruits.
Voice
A harsh, high-pitched 'cheet', easily heard over the sound of running water.

Composed of plant material and placed in a rock crevice, near streams and rivers, often between boulders.

2; creamy white with reddish speckles.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Myophonus glaucinus (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Javan Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus glaucinus ), Sumatran Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus castaneus ) and Bornean Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus borneensis ) and following Collar (2004).
Forms a superspecies with Javan Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus glaucinus ) and Sumatran Whistling-Thrush (Myophonus castaneus ) and all were previously treated as conspecific.
