Philippines (B) (NB).

Central and southern Philippines: Samar, Leyte, Cebu and Mindanao.

Estimated population is 1,000 - 2,499 (2010) and decreasing.

Status VU
Habitat destruction is the main threat.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Relationships uncertain. Its yellow flight-feather edging most closely resembles that of Jerdon's Leafbird (Chloropsis jerdoni). Birds from north-eastern Mindanao, described as subspecies mindanensis, considered inseparable from those in rest of range.
