MC

Generally uncommon, local and sedentary.

Habitat
Rainforests, vine scrub, vegetated watercourses, coastal scrubs, nearby eucalypt woodlands in northern Queensland. Monsoon rainforest, swamp woodlands, bamboo and pandanus thickets near watercourses and springs, mangroves in north-western Australia.

Nest
A neat, frail cup, composed of grass, strips of bark and plant fiber, bound with cobweb, lined with leaves, in a young tree, a few meters above the ground.

Eggs (Guide)
2; smooth, matt, pale yellow-green, green-grey, blue-green or buff-green, spotted and blotched with browns, all over or in an indistinct zone, particularly at the larger end; oval to long-oval; about 20 x 15 mm. Incubation: about 16 days; by female only.

Young
Altricial, nidicolous. Fledge in about 9 days. Fed by both parents.

Subspecies
No subspecies. Sometimes treated as conspecific with Buff-sided Robin (Poecilodryas cerviniventris).

Poecilodryas superciliosa (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993; Christidis and Boles 1994) has been split into White-browed Robin (Poecilodryas superciliosa) and Buff-sided Robin (Poecilodryas cerviniventris) following Christidis and Boles (2008).

Similar Species
Grey-headed Robin (Heteromyias cinereifrons) which is larger, lighter above, darker below, lacks both the white eyebrow and white tips on the tail.
