Habits
Forages in pairs or small family groups of three or four. Often in mixed flocks.
Voice
Very vocal. Song is high-pitched trill lasting 2-5 seconds, sometimes introduced by several 'tjit' calls. A repeated 'tjit' contact call.

Subspecies
No subspecies.
Forms a superspecies with Rusty-crowned Tit-Spinetail (Leptasthenura pileata), and considered conspecific by some authors. Together, the two presumably most closely related to Streaked Tit-Spinetail (Leptasthenura striata).
