Bahamas (B) (NB), Cuba (B) (NB), Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico (B) (NB), Turks and Caicos Islands.

Subspecies
Contopus caribaeus (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Cuban Pewee (Contopus caribaeus), Jamaican Pewee (Contopus pallidus) and Hispaniolan Pewee (Contopus hispaniolensis) following AOU (1998).

Formerly treated as conspecific with Jamaican Pewee (Contopus pallidus) and Hispaniolan Pewee (Contopus hispaniolensis).

The following 4 subspecies are recognised:

bahamensis (Bryant, H, 1859) - Bahamas.
caribaeus (D'Orbigny, 1839) - Cuba and I of Pines.
morenoi Burleigh & Duvall, 1948 - Mangroves on southern coast of Cuba and nearby cays.
nerlyi Garrido, 1978 - Archipi�lago de los Jardines de la Reina and nearby islands, off southern Cuba.
