Habitat
Marine, pelagic, in sub-Antarctic and adjacent Antarctic and sub-tropical waters.
Iles St Paul and Amsterdam Island.

Food
Mostly crustaceans, and small fish with some cephalopods.
Nest
A chamber at the end of a burrow, lined with leaves and twigs.

Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Salvin's Prion (Pachyptila salvini).
