Subspecies
Often considered subspecies of Rough-faced Shag (Leucocarbo carunculatus ). Some authors merge carunculatus , chalconotus and onslowi , and campbelli , ranfurlyi and colensoi into single species. Sometimes placed in Leucocarbo or Euleucocarbo .
