Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland dry grassland and shrubland, hot desert.

Range (Guide)
Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia.

Vagrant to Eritrea.

Eritrea, eastern and southern Ethiopia, Djibouti, northern and south-central Somalia and northern Kenya.
 
Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Genus sometimes merged with Otis. Present species considered to form parapatric species pair with Denham's Bustard (Neotis denhami), but perhaps in reality closer to Nubian Bustard (Neotis nuba).
