Voice
A regular 'woo, woo, woo' usually lasting seven notes but at times shorter. However, other observers report a deep 'whrrooh' repeated intermittently.
pickeringii (Cassin, 1854) - Islets off northern and north-eastern Borneo and islets in Sulu Sea from Balabac and Cagayan to Sulu Is (southern Philippines).
langhornei (Mearns, 1905) - Western and eastern Bolod and Loran in central Sulu Is (southern Philippines).
palmasensis (Mearns, 1909) - Miangas and Talaud Is (north-east of Sulawesi).
Similar Species
Green Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula aenea) which is larger, greener with rufous undertail-coverts.
