Subspecies
Closely related to White-crowned Pigeon (Patagioenas leucocephala), the songs of the two species are spectrographically similar. They overlap in parts of their ranges but tend to occupy different habitats. In Jamaica, this species is replaced by Ring-tailed Pigeon (Patagioenas caribaea).
