Subspecies
Appears to form a superspecies with Andean Parakeet (Bolborhynchus orbygnesius).
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Barred Parakeet (Bolborhynchus lineola) generally occurs at lower elevations and is smaller, with pale bill, and black shoulder patch, wing-bars and barring on flanks.
