Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with Mindanao Racquet-tail (Prioniturus waterstradti), Blue-headed Racquet-tail (Prioniturus platenae) and debatably Sulu Racquet-tail (Prioniturus verticalis). Frequently united with Mindanao Racquet-tail (Prioniturus waterstradti) and less commonly with Sulu Racquet-tail (Prioniturus verticalis) also.

No subspecies.
