Subspecies
Forms a broad superspecies with Olive-headed Lorikeet (Trichoglossus euteles ), Yellow-and-green Lorikeet (Trichoglossus flavoviridis ), Mindanao Lorikeet (Trichoglossus johnstoniae ) and Scaly-breasted Lorikeet (Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus ).
