Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:
erythropleura (Walden, 1875) - Eastern Myanmar and north-western Thailand. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
superciliaris Salvadori, 1874 - North-eastern Myanmar, southern and south-eastern China (western Sichuan, and south-western Yunnan, northern Guangxi and northern Guangdong east to central Fujian), north-eastern Thailand, northern Laos and northern Vietnam (western and eastern Tonkin). Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
klossi (Hachisuka, 1926) - Southern Laos (chiefly on Bolaven Plateau) and central Vietnam (central and southern Annam, northern Cochinchina). Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
waterstradti (Hartert, 1902) - Summit of Mt Tahan, in Peninsular Malaysia. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
dysancrita (Oberholser, 1912) - Western Sumatra. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Black-throated Prinia (Prinia atrogularis).
