First Described (Guide)
Baird, 1858
North-central & north-eastern Siberia from Lena Delta to R Kolyma. Winters from New Guinea through Melanesia to New Caledonia and Fiji, and south to Australia and New Zealand. Possibly a hribrid between Sharp-tailed Sandpiper (Calidris acuminata) and Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea).
