Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Grey-cheeked Fulvetta (Alcippe morrisonia).
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
schaefferi La Touche, 1923 - Southern China (south-eastern Yunnan east to southern Guizhou and northern Guangxi) and northern Vietnam (Tonkin). Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Grey-cheeked Fulvetta (Alcippe morrisonia).
davidi Styan, 1896 - East-central China from southern Gansu and southern Shaanxi south to central and eastern Sichuan, south-western Hubei, northern and eastern Guizhou, south-western Hunan, extreme north-eastern Guangxi and north-western Jiangxi. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Grey-cheeked Fulvetta (Alcippe morrisonia).
