Subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest. From sea-level - 800 m.
Solomon Islands (B) (NB).
Vanikoro, Santa Cruz Islands.

Population
Estimated population is 20,000 - 49,999 (2010) and stable.
Status LC
Predation by introduced species apperas to be the main threat. However, it apparently coexists with introduced rats Rattus spp.
