Similar Species
Resembles Half-collared Sparrow (Arremon semitorquatus) which has more extensive black on breast and only the mandible yellow. It is also more extensively shaded dark grey on sides of belly. Pectoral Sparrow (Arremon taciturnus) has a complete breast band.
