Subtropical and tropical dry forest.

Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Considered common in the late 19th century. Specimens were last collected 1896 and only ten years later it could not be found. Reasons for extinction are not known but habitat destruction and avian malaria are possible causes.
