Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Probably very rare when discovered and is known from only a handful of skins (now in New York and London) from Kona, Hawai`i, USA. It was discovered - and last recorded - in 1891. Reasons for extinction is not known but habitat destruction and avian malaria are possible causes.
