Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
- rufobrunnea (Gray, 1862) - Principe Island, Gulf of Guinea, West Africa.
- fradei (Naurois, 1975) - I Bone de Jókei (Caroco), off southern Príncipe.
- thomensis (Barboza du Bocage, 1888) - Sío Tomé I, in Gulf of Guinea.
