Subspecies
No obvious close relative.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

primigenia (Hachisuka, 1941) - Central Mindanao (Mt Kitanglad, Mt Apo, L Sebu, Mt Busa, Mt McKinley, Mt Lamut, Civolig, Daggayan), in southern Philippines.
diuatae Salomonsen, 1953 - Mt Hilong-Hilong, in north-eastern Mindanao.
