Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- diademata Verreaux, J, 1869 - Central China (southern Gansu and Hubei south to Sichuan and Guizhou).
- ampelina Rippon, 1900 - North-eastern Myanmar east to southern China (Yunnan) and northern Vietnam (Tonkin).
