Habits
Singly and in pairs foraging low in the stunted forest, sometimes on moss-covered tree-trunks and on the ground. Often in mixed species foraging flocks.
Voice
A high-pitched warble. Also a metallic 'tzik'.

Subspecies
No subspecies.
Relationships uncertain. Recent DNA studies suggest possible sister relationship to Island Leaf-Warbler (Phylloscopus poliocephalus). Detailed review of all leaf-warbler taxa in Indonesia, Wallacea, New Guinea and Solomon Is may lead to considerable changes from present taxonomic arrangement.
Similar Species
Island Leaf-Warbler (Phylloscopus poliocephalus) which is slighter with longer tail, brighter supercilium, greyer head with slight coronal stripe and plain yellow underparts.
