Habitat
Open areas with scattered dominant Tournefortia argentea trees mixed with dense brush, and sometimes with introduced coconut palms (Cocos nucifera).

Insects, including flies and dragonflies, and small lizards.
Voice
Calls 'cha', 'che' and 'churr'. Song is simple in comparison to congeners and involves the call notes above repeated in phrases of varying amplitude.
