Habitat
Subtropical and tropical moist montane forest, temperate forest.
Cambodia, China (mainland), Hong Kong (China), Japan, Laos, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia (Asian), South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam.

Breeds extreme south-eastern Russia (eastern Amurland, Ussuriland) and north-eastern China (Heilongjiang), possibly reaching extreme northern Korea. Non-breeding southern China, Myanmar, Thailand, north-western Vietnam, Laos and southern Cambodia.
