Subspecies
No subspecies.
Forms a superspecies with Reunion Olive White-eye (Zosterops olivaceus) and often considered conspecific, but they differ strikingly in, especially, call and vocal behaviour.
Similar Species
Subspecies mauritianus of Reunion Grey White-eye (Zosterops borbonicus) from which it differs by having dark, not grey rump, noticeable white eye-ring, and being overall olive, not grey. Also has a longer, fine, decurved bill.
