Subspecies
No subspecies.
Relationships of genus with rest of family uncertain. Recent molecular data indicate that present species is sister of Grey-crowned Tetraka (Xanthomixis cinereiceps).
Similar Species
Differs from Long-billed Tetraka (Bernieria madagascariensis) by smaller size, grey head, white throat, slimmer and shorter bill.
