Subspecies
Sometimes placed in a separate genus, Sittiparus.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
- snowi (Parkes, 1971) - North-eastern Luzon (northern Sierra Madre Mts), in northern Philippines.
- semilarvatus (Salvadori, 1865) - Central and southern Luzon ( central and southern Sierra Madre Mts).
- nehrkorni (Blasius, W, 1890) - Mindanao, in southern Philippines.
