Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia (B), China (mainland) (B), India (B), Laos (B), Myanmar (B), Thailand (B), Vietnam (B).

Introduced to Malaysia (B).

Java and Bali. Introduced to Taiwan, south-eastern Thailand, Singapore, Sumatra, Lesser Sundas and Puerto Rico, and perhaps Japan.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

May form a superspecies with Great Myna (Acridotheres grandis) and often considered conspecific. Has also been considered conspecific with Pale-bellied Myna (Acridotheres cinereus), and both previously included in Jungle Myna (Acridotheres fuscus).
